Job Summary The Equipment Management Technician focuses on the total reprocessing of patient related equipment in a timely and qualitive manner. The EQ tech will also provide support to the Central Sterile staff within the scope of practice in order to assist in meeting patient care needs. This position reports to the Central Sterile Supply Supervisor and has no direct reports. JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Maintains an adequate inventory of patient equipment, using the tools given, such as the "Find it Now" (RTLS) tracking system. Adjust inventory levels to maintain par levels. Works with CS staff to scan inventory to shelves in the tracking system and reports to CS staff when inventory is low The EQ tech will also provide support to the Central Sterile staff within the scope of practice in order to assist in meeting patient care needs. When needed the EQ technician will support the Central Sterile staff when there is a need for support with maintaining back stock of instruments and partners with CS staff when par levels are low to get them ordered and restocked. Assist Surgical Inventory with receiving and breaking down stock delivered to the department as needed Assist Central Sterile with scanning trays to shelves and aid with putting put backs as needed using the instrument tracking system. Inform Leadership immediately regarding faulty Equipment to include calling Facilities or placing a work order if needed. Provide professional customer service support and adhere to Grady's Policies, Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures Answer all calls quickly, accurately and professionally Performs and documents terminal cleaning of devices. Attend to needs of the customers quickly and professionally. Interact with all customers, vendors and staff members courteously and professionally at all times. Rounds on a scheduled basis and picks up soiled equipment. Adjusts inventory levels to maintain par levels. Delivers equipment as requested. Triages devices for repairs and preventive maintenance. Identifies training needs and provides training to customers as needed. Maintains support to clinical staff as it relates to patient equipment. Identifies training needs and training to customers as needed. Additional duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE: 1 + years : Job related experience in Stocking supplies, equipment cleaning, ordering, basic computer skills and equipment maintenance.
