Job Summary

The Athletic First Responderis responsible forproviding athletic first aid for the prevention and care of athletic injuries.

Responsibilities And Scope

• Performsoutreach duties for the sports medicine program to assigned schools.

• Providesimmediate first aid and intervention, prevention of injuries, and reporting of all athletic injuries.

• Worksunder the supervision of a licensed athletic trainer employed by UNC HealthPardee.

Qualifications

Hired candidates are expected to complete the Athletic First Responder program taught byPardeeUNC Health Sports Medicine team.

Required

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Must be certified in both CPR and the use of an AED. Certifications must be from NCOEMS, AHA, or American Red Cross.

Preferred

• EMT, Paramedic, or First Aid certificationpreferred
