What you'll do:
- Perform, develop, and refine analytical chemistry test methods to support R&D, quality investigations, and manufacturing needs.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation including GC, Headspace, GPC/SEC, and DSC.
- Plan, execute, and document analytical method verification, equipment qualification, and validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) as applicable.
- Ensure analytical methods and measurements comply with internal standards and applicable quality systems or regulatory requirements.
- Analyze, interpret, and clearly communicate analytical data through technical reports, summaries, and presentations.
- Author, review, and maintain work instructions, SOPs, test methods, and related laboratory documentation.
- Support root cause investigations, nonconformances, and corrective actions through robust analytical testing and data interpretation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams.
- Support method transfers, method improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain laboratory organization, safety compliance, calibration practices, and good documentation practices.
Qualifications:
- MS or PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field; or
- BS in a related scientific field with 5-7 years of relevant industry experience in analytical or chemical testing environments
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with gas chromatography (GC), including headspace analysis.
- Experience with polymer or materials characterization techniques such as GPC/SEC and DSC.
- Experience with analytical method development, verification, validation, or qualification is strongly preferred.
- Experience working within a quality system environment (ISO, GMP, or similar) preferred.
- Knowledge of polymer, coating, or materials testing in an R&D environment.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis tools used in analytical chemistry.
- Understanding of traceability, measurement uncertainty, and metrology principles.
- Ability to travel up to 10%
Computer Skills:
- MS Office proficiency.
- Experience with Minitab or similar statistical software.
- Python or equivalent technical computing experience preferred
- Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE), method optimization or robustness testing.
