As a Security Officer Patrol Relief Part Time in Jamaica, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. Our Unarmed Patrol Officers at a shelter location monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while supporting residents, staff, and visitors with professionalism and care. In this role, you will conduct routine patrols, stay visible, respond to concerns, and deliver strong customer service and communication. Pay Rate: $18.87 / Hour

What You'll Do:

    Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at the location.
  • Respond to incidents, resident concerns, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting details and communicating with site contacts when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including common areas, entrances, exits, hallways, and perimeter areas, helping to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and observe activity within the location to help support authorized entry, visitor processing, and adherence to site rules and expectations.
  • Write clear reports on incidents, observations, and/or unusual activity, and assist with de-escalation support and other security-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
