The Production Control Coordinator is responsible for monitoring and coordinating the flow of materials, components, and work orders throughout the production process to ensure products are completed on schedule. This position works closely with production, planning, purchasing, and quality teams to remove bottlenecks, track job progress, and ensure customer delivery commitments are met.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Monitor production schedules and work order status to ensure jobs move through the manufacturing process according to schedule.
  • Coordinating with production supervisors and department leads to tracking job progress and identifying potential delays.
  • Expedite materials, parts, and documentation needed to maintain production flow and prevent downtime.
  • Review production routers and work orders to determine processing steps, priorities, and completion requirements.
  • Communicate with planning, purchasing, and inventory teams regarding shortages, late materials, or schedule impacts.
  • Track and report status of priority or customer-critical jobs.
  • Assist in resolving production bottlenecks by coordinating resources between departments.
  • Ensure proper documentation accompanies jobs throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Verify that materials and components are available prior to job release to production.
  • Monitor queue times and work-in-progress to ensure efficient workflow between departments.
  • Support production meetings by providing job status updates and identifying potential schedule risks.
  • Maintain accurate records of job progress and production status within ERP or manufacturing systems.
  • Work with quality and inspection teams to prioritize inspections required to maintain schedule commitments.
  • Communicate effectively with multiple departments to ensure timely completion of production orders.
  • Follow all safety policies, PPE requirements, and plant safety procedures.


QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge/Skills/Education)

  • 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing, production coordination, or expediting.
  • Experience working in aerospace or precision manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand production routers, work orders, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate work across multiple departments.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with ERP or manufacturing systems.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple jobs simultaneously.
  • Basic math skills and attention to detail.
