Description

Markon is seeking an experienced Software Engineer 2 to support Enterprise Data Enablement initiatives within the Data Transformation Solutions (DTS) organization for the Fort Meade customer. This role provides full-stack Java software development in support of enterprise data architecture and transformation efforts. The position will develop and prototype innovative capabilities that advance the customer's Data Architecture Strategy, leveraging modern technologies to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions for the ingest, processing, transformation, and transport of mission-critical data.



Responsibilities

    Design, develop, and maintain full-stack Java applications supporting enterprise data enablement initiatives
  • Develop and prototype new capabilities that support the customer's Data Architecture Strategy
  • Build scalable solutions for data ingest, processing, transformation, and transport workflows
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to define requirements and implement technical solutions
  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, web services, and backend processing components
  • Support modernization efforts utilizing emerging technologies and enterprise data frameworks
  • Participate in Agile software development activities, including sprint planning, code reviews, testing, and deployment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects, performance issues, and integration challenges
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and software artifacts
  • Support system integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment activities


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer.
  • Bachelor's degree and 9+ years of software engineering experience
  • Experience developing full-stack Java applications in enterprise environments
  • Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and web services
  • Experience supporting data processing, data transformation, or data integration solutions
  • Experience working in Agile development environments
  • Strong understanding of software design principles, system architecture, and enterprise application development
  • Experience with source code management tools such as Git
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience supporting enterprise data architecture or data transformation initiatives
  • Experience with cloud technologies and modern software development frameworks
  • Experience developing scalable solutions for high-volume data processing environments
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized deployments
  • Experience supporting Intelligence Community mission systems and data platforms


Salary Range

USD $190,000.00 - USD $210,000.00 /Yr.

The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
