Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

As part of a hardworking team of engineers, you will be responsible for integrating the Liquid rocket engine with the GS2 vehicle, with a focus on fluid systems, structural interfaces, and interface control documentation (ICD) and specifications.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Own the technical integration of the engine to the GS2 stage, including all fluid and structural interfaces.
  • Define, develop, and maintain engine-vehicle Interface Control Documents (ICDs), ensuring alignment across BE3U and GS2 stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage system- and subsystem-level specifications for BE3U/GS2 interfaces (fluid, structural, electrical, and avionics as needed).
  • Lead the design and integration of fluid interfaces (propellant, pressurization, purge, vent, and drain) between engine and stage, including line routing, manifolds, and valves.
  • Coordinate loads, environments, and interface requirements with analysis teams (structures, dynamics, thermal, and fluids) and incorporate results into ICDs and specs
  • Support test planning and test execution for BE3U/GS2 integrated testing (component, subsystem, and system-level), including test configurations and data review.
  • Drive resolution of interface and design changes via structured change control, including updates to ICDs, specs, and configuration baselines.
  • Provide clear technical communication (presentations, review packages, and trade studies) to leadership and crossfunctional teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in propulsion, launch vehicle, or complex aerospace system integration.
  • Experience with fluid systems (cryogenic propellants, pressurization, or pneumatic systems) and structural interfaces in propulsion or vehicle applications.
  • Demonstrated experience creating and managing ICDs, requirements, or specifications for complex hardware.
  • Proficiency with engineering tools for CAD, drawings, and requirements management (e.g., Creo/Windchill, DOORS/Jama, or equivalent).
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and driving closure on interface issues across organizations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience integrating rocket engines with launch vehicle stages or similar propulsion-structure systems.
  • Handson experience with cryogenic oxygen and hydrogen systems, including ground test or flight hardware.
  • Experience with structural loads, dynamic environments, and testcorrelation for engine or stage attachments.
  • Experience in configuration management and formal change processes for ICDs and specifications.
