About the College/Unit/Department
The UGA Search Group has been operational since October 2006. The Group is a full-featured internal executive search unit, which means that we have a comprehensive understanding of the institution's culture and priorities as well an added level of ownership to successfully place the best candidates. The Group actively recruits top talent, and is also responsible for the administration of the search for the internal client by managing the planning and execution of all search related meetings. These activities include designing the search timeline, developing on campus schedules, and communicating with the University community regarding on campus interview activity. Our mission is to serve the University of Georgia as the premier higher education search group delivering stronger candidate pools and a more seamless process than any other executive search firm in the world. Position Summary
The Senior Executive Process Consultant will serve as a senior member of the Process Team through the executive search process for senior level administration and faculty positions. Discretion and judgment will be crucial in this role as a key contributor and model for the team. As a senior member of the UGA Search Group, the role will assist in coaching, mentoring, and training members of the Process Team, share best practices, and provide organization and coordination in support of the executive search process. By maintaining a sound strategic search process strategy, and utilizing project management skills in the delivery of on-time communication, research, marketing, event planning and document management in the executive search process for the Institution, the Senior Executive Process Consultant will assist the office in filling key-contributor leadership positions. These top talent hires will have a major impact on the University.
The Senior Executive Process Consultant serves as a key member of the Process Team and is responsible for producing an effective and respectable search process through high-level organization and project management of the executive search process. The Senior Executive Process Consultant will work on multiple searches at any given time and demonstrate independent initiative and resourcefulness in leading research efforts for prospective candidates, securing campus spaces for search meetings, communicating with key internal and external constituents, and focusing on the details that are the hallmark of the UGA Search Group. The position will maintain contact with senior level administrative leaders, senior staff, hiring authorities, search committee members, faculty, staff, and students in the facilitation of search events. This role will contribute to the development and execution of a strategic vision focused on continuous improvement and creative ways to leverage the team's expertise in support of our state's flagship institution.
This position has a limited term appointment which is expected to end July 2028. The position may be extended beyond the initial term, contingent upon continued funding.

Manage Onsite Recruiting Process

  • Manage communications with UGA constituents to make all necessary reservations such as hotel rooms, meals for interviews, meeting spaces, candidate accommodations, and others.
  • Manage multiple email accounts; Oversee responses to both individuals and mass groups on a regular basis regarding search events and questions.
  • Manage the planning and scheduling of candidate interviews with key stakeholder groups and act as a liaison for internal and external partners involved in search-related events.
  • Manage and lead internet research to identify and source top qualified candidates through peer and aspirational institutions, position-specific associations, nominations, and subject matter experts.
  • Escorting candidates on campus and performing other duties in support of a successful search process.

Training and Coaching

  • Coach, mentor, and train members of the Process Management team to share best practices and "standard operating procedures" (SOP's) in executive search. Help in the professional development of other team members.
  • Provide professional consultation to employees, supervisors and management on human resources issues. This role is distinguished by the complexity and scope of issues, leadership, organization/project management, initiative, independence, discretion, technical expertise and professional maturity necessary.

  • Maintain relationships with the hiring authorities, search chairs, and search committee members to communicate timely search information with regard to meetings and locations, candidate information, interview scheduling, and other relevant materials.
  • Manage the creation of search related materials such as marketing documents for prospective candidates (opportunity profiles), search committee documents, campus meeting attendee documents, and more.
