Job Description Summary

Performs quality technician responsibilities as detailed below for product being manufactured in the facility.

Job Description:

  • Perform measurements as stated on the control plan.
  • Use and verify accuracy of various measurement equipment in the department. CMM, Hand operated variable and attribute gauges, comparators, white light, MPI Unit, Hardness testers or other part specific gauging as necessary to perform quality checks.
  • Work with the Engineering department to provide support for product development.
  • Assist Engineers with layout, capability studies and other special projects as assigned.
  • Uses computer daily. Plex, CMM program directory, email.
  • Understands and reviews statistical process control. (SPC)
  • Assists operations in use of SPC and control plans (i.e., appearance reports, gauge instructions, and measuring equipment accuracy verification).
  • Assist operations with containment and control of non-conforming product
  • Works closely with operations in problem solving, decision making and participating in corrective actions.
  • Works in various areas of department. In process/First piece, Final Audit, and Layered Process Audits (LPA).
  • Prioritize shift communication within established process.
  • Participates in 5-S
  • Complete other duties within job classification as assigned
  • Assists other associates as directed by Team Leader and/or Supervisor

Required Skills and Education

Education:

High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

  • 2 years Engineering experience or Manufacturing background in a PM environment.
  • Forward thinking, open-minded, and methodical thinking
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Able to work with little or no supervision, in a fast paced multitask environment.
  • Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office, and Plex
  • Willingness and desire to learn
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Works with Safety as a priority
