Marketing Department

The marketing team is a global function at Vantage and is responsible for Vantage's brand, identity and positioning in the global marketplace. The department further leads public and analyst relations to ensure constituents are educated on Vantage's products, services and markets. The team partners with sales, new site development, construction, finance, people and culture, public policy, internal communications and other departments to grow market share, acquire and retain customers, expand into new geographies, understand customer sentiment and promote the company as an employer of choice.

Position Overview

This position will be based on-site at our office in Denver, CO. in alignment with our flexible work policy. (3 days on site required, 2 days flexible).

The Director, Public Relations, North America will lead content-driven public relations for Vantage across the region, with a primary focus on market announcements, policy-related topics and social media storytelling. This role will shape and amplify the company's external narrative across new and existing markets, translating complex business, infrastructure and public policy topics into clear, compelling content for media, customers, policymakers and communities.

The role is responsible for developing and executing North America PR strategies that elevate Vantage's brand, support business growth and strengthen the company's reputation in key markets. This includes leading content development for press releases, messaging frameworks, blog posts, executive talking points, award submissions, case studies and social media, while partnering closely with regional leadership, public policy, new site development, sustainability and the global marketing team.

The ideal candidate is a strong writer, editor and storyteller with excellent media judgment, experience managing sensitive or high-visibility announcements, and the ability to connect local market developments to broader corporate narratives.

The individual will report directly to the Vice President, Marketing, North America and will collaborate with various stakeholders and teams within the company to achieve department, regional and global goals.

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead North America public relations strategy with a strong emphasis on market announcements, regional storytelling and policy-related communications.

  • Own the development of high-quality written content, including press releases, blogs, statements, executive talking points, case studies, award submissions and other external materials.

  • Build and manage editorial calendars aligned to business priorities, market milestones and regional communications opportunities.

  • Develop content and messaging for corporate and executive social media channels, in partnership with the global marketing team.

  • Partner closely with public policy, new site development, sustainability, regional leadership and other internal stakeholders to communicate on market entry, expansion, community engagement and regulatory or policy topics.

  • Manage agency partners and external contributors to ensure strong execution, message consistency and measurable results.

  • Support proactive and reactive media engagement related to market announcements, industry trends and issues affecting the business in North America.

  • Monitor media, market sentiment and competitor activity to inform messaging and communications strategy.

  • Measure and report on PR and social media performance, using insights to refine strategy and improve outcomes.

Duties

  • Develop annual and campaign-specific PR plans that support regional growth, reputation and business objectives.

  • Draft and edit press releases, blog posts, op-eds, messaging documents, FAQs, backgrounders and executive communications.

  • Create clear, compelling narratives around new market entry, site launches, expansions, customer milestones, sustainability initiatives, community partnerships and policy-related developments.

  • Translate complex infrastructure, regulatory and business issues into accessible content for external audiences.

  • Drive social content planning and execution for North America priorities, including announcement support, thought leadership and amplification of key campaigns.

  • Identify and develop opportunities for executive visibility, including media interviews, speaking engagements, bylined content and award recognition.

  • Partner with the global marketing and internal communications teams to ensure consistency across internal and external messaging.

  • Manage editorial workflow, agency collaboration and approvals across multiple stakeholders and timelines.

  • Track and analyze media coverage, social performance and content effectiveness to improve future programming.

  • Additional duties as assigned by management

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 8-12 years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, content development or external affairs.

  • Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to produce executive-ready and audience-appropriate content.

  • Proven experience leading communications for market announcements, corporate milestones, policy-related topics or other high-visibility business events.

  • Experience translating complex or technical subject matter into clear, engaging content for external audiences.

  • Strong understanding of social media strategy, content development and performance measurement for corporate brands and executives.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including marketing, public policy, legal, regional leadership and executive stakeholders.

  • Strong media relations skills and sound judgment in fast-moving or sensitive situations.

  • Experience in both agency and in-house environments preferred.

  • Data center, digital infrastructure, real estate, energy, technology or similarly complex industry experience preferred.

  • Strong project management skills and ability to operate effectively in a matrixed, global organization.

  • Knowledge of AP Style strongly preferred.

  • Travel required is expected to be 5 to 10%, generally traveling to other Vantage offices/data centers.

  • Travel may increase over time as the business evolves.

Additional Details

  • Salary Range: $165,000-$185,000 + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)

  • This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and AD&D, short and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program that includes company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.

  • Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
