As a Senior Design Assurance Technician, you will play a key role in supporting innovative product development through validation of electrical and mechanical performance and compliance to industry standards. You will work closely with engineers and cross-functional partners to ensure high-quality results, maintain laboratory excellence, and achieve break-through solutions in the Utilities and Energy technology space. This position requires strong technical skills, accountability, and a collaborative approach aligned with Itron's commitment to authenticity, agility, and continuous innovation. Duties & Responsibilities: The person in this role is responsible for performing testing procedures on various types of equipment. Types might include, but are not limited to analog, digital, and logic circuits, components, and instruments. They may use oscilloscopes, signal or pulse generators, power supplies, and various specialized testing equipment. They will troubleshoot test failures to a component level. Additional duties include:
  • Perform test system adjustments and alignments.
  • Assemble and repair test systems and fixtures per assembly drawings or instructions.
  • Troubleshoot test systems to a functional block or component level.
  • Perform mechanical and electronic preventive maintenance on test equipment per instructions.
  • Setup and operate manual or automated test systems per instructions.
  • Conduct performance tests on company manufactured products per instructions.
  • Train operators and lower level technicians on the proper use of test systems per instructions.
  • Troubleshoot company-manufactured products to a functional block or component level.
  • Construct moderately complex circuits from schematic diagrams. Hand-solder through-hole and surface-mount components.
  • Perform all types of electric/electronic measurements using the appropriate bench equipment.
  • Write and release simple to moderately complex test procedures and reports.
  • Modify simple to moderately complex software programs that operate as standalone applications or support larger software systems.
  • Record test and measurement results in spreadsheets.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Associate degree in Electrical Technology or equivalent field
  • 3+ years as a laboratory technician or equivalent technical experience
  • Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • 5+ years as a laboratory technician or equivalent technical experience
