You Are:

We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst to join our Data Services Reporting team, specializing in SQL Server T-SQL development and business intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex stored procedures, ad hoc scripts, and SSRS reports that support critical business operations and decision-making processes.



The opportunity:

* Database Development & T-SQL Programming

* Design, develop, and optimize complex stored procedures for data extraction, transformation, and reporting

* Write efficient T-SQL queries including multi-table joins, subqueries, window functions, and conditional logic

* Create and maintain ad hoc scripts for data analysis, troubleshooting, and special reporting requests

* Develop and implement data validation and quality assurance procedures

* Optimize query performance through indexing strategies and execution plan analysis Report Development & SSRS

* Design and develop RDL reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)

* Create interactive dashboards, parameterized reports, and data visualizations

* Implement complex report parameters, datasets, and data sources

* Develop drill-through reports and nested report structures

* Optimize report performance and manage report deployment Data Analysis & Business Intelligence

* Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and business insights

* Translate business requirements into technical specifications and data solutions

* Collaborate with business users to understand reporting needs and deliver actionable insights

* Perform data profiling, validation, and cleansing activities

* Develop documentation for data models, procedures, and reports Version Control & Team Collaboration

* Manage source code using Microsoft Visual Studio with TFS (Team Foundation Server)

* Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards

* Maintain comprehensive documentation for all developed solutions

This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.

What you need:

* SQL Server: Advanced proficiency with T-SQL, stored procedures, functions, and performance tuning

* SSRS: Strong experience with RDL report development, parameters, and data sources

* Visual Studio/TFS: Familiarity with source control, branching, and collaborative development

* Data Analysis: Ability to analyze complex data relationships and business logic

* Problem Solving: Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting capabilities

* Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with healthcare or insurance industry data systems

* Knowledge of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts

* Understanding of database design principles and normalization

* Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred

* 5+ years of experience in SQL Server development and reporting

* Proven track record of developing complex stored procedures and SSRS reports

* Strong understanding of relational database concepts and data modeling

* Excellent communication skills and ability to work with both technical and business stakeholders Work Environment



Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Role Location: Idaho

Compensation Range : $92,000-$138,000



Benefits

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

Part-time employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching.

Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) program with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance.

Part-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).

All US employees who work in a state or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
