Janitor - Facilities Support Services

Location: Fort Meade, MD

Position Summary

LAUKOA is seeking a qualified Janitor to support facilities operations at Fort Meade, Maryland. This position performs routine cleaning, sanitizing, floor care, waste removal, and general custodial duties in Government-owned facilities. The selected candidate will help maintain clean, safe, and professional facilities while complying with contract requirements, applicable safety procedures, and established cleaning standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Perform routine janitorial and custodial services in assigned facilities and work areas.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, offices, hallways, common areas, breakrooms, entrances, stairways, and other assigned spaces.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, disinfect, and spot clean floors, furniture, fixtures, walls, doors, and high-touch surfaces.
  • Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners as needed.
  • Replenish restroom supplies, paper products, soap, and other consumable supplies.
  • Perform floor care duties, including vacuuming, mopping, buffing, stripping, waxing, and carpet spot cleaning as assigned.
  • Clean interior glass, mirrors, fixtures, dispensers, and other surfaces.
  • Report damaged fixtures, clogged drains, unsafe conditions, supply needs, and facility deficiencies to supervision.
  • Operate janitorial equipment, cleaning tools, and chemical products safely and in accordance with instructions.
  • Maintain janitorial closets, equipment, supplies, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
  • Respond to assigned work orders and service requests in a timely manner.
  • Comply with all environmental, safety, security, and contract requirements.


Minimum Qualifications



  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
  • Experience cleaning commercial, industrial, institutional, or Government facilities preferred.
  • Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals, janitorial tools, and custodial equipment.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Working knowledge of basic janitorial and custodial cleaning practices.
  • Ability to clean and sanitize assigned areas in accordance with established standards.
  • Ability to safely operate vacuums, mops, buffers, floor machines, carts, and related janitorial equipment.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures, chemical handling instructions, and cleaning schedules.
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a facilities support team.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism while working in occupied Government facilities.


Security Requirements



  • Must possess and maintain an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.


Physical Requirements



  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull cleaning supplies, trash, equipment, and materials consistent with the duties of the position.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, climb stairs, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to operate janitorial equipment safely for extended periods.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying facility conditions.
  • Ability to safely perform physically demanding custodial work.


Wage Rate



  • Between $35.00 - $45.00 per hour (included is $5.09 for Health & Welfare)
