Job Description

This is an exciting time to join Visa's NA Marketing Services team as we strengthen our focus on deepening relationships with leading Super Regional Issuers and driving growth through innovative, data-driven cardholder marketing strategies. As Visa continues to expand its marketing advisory, analytics, and technology capabilities, this role will help clients unlock growth through customer-centric marketing, advanced segmentation, and lifecycle engagement.

As part of the NA Marketing Services team, the Director, Super Regional Issuer, Cardholder Growth & Lifecycle Marketing will serve as the primary point of contact and payments marketing expert for assigned Super Regional Issuer clients. The individual will be responsible for developing strategic marketing partnerships, leading executive-level client engagement, and driving growth through data-driven marketing programs that improve card acquisition, activation, engagement, spend, retention, and overall portfolio performance.

This leader will oversee the sell-in and implementation of Visa Marketing Services engagements designed to strengthen client brands, deepen customer engagement, accelerate portfolio growth, and improve cardholder lifetime value. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in cardholder lifecycle marketing, CRM, email marketing, data analytics, customer segmentation, and payments marketing strategy, with a proven track record of developing and executing high-impact marketing programs for banks, card issuers, co-brand programs, fintech organizations, or payments companies. The ideal candidate will also have experience leveraging advanced marketing technologies and customer data to deliver personalized, measurable business outcomes.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Master's/MBA/JD).
  • 12-15 years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Master's, MBA, JD).
  • 10+ years of experience in payments, card marketing, financial services marketing, advertising, consulting, or client marketing roles.
  • Significant experience in financial services, payments, card marketing, issuer marketing, co-brand card programs, or fintech marketing.
  • Demonstrated experience using customer data, analytics, insights, and performance reporting to drive marketing strategy and business outcomes.
  • Experience managing CRM, email marketing, customer journey orchestration, and lifecycle marketing initiatives.
  • Experience developing and executing data-driven customer engagement strategies across multiple marketing channels.
  • Successful in operating within fast-paced, highly matrixed organizations.
  • Prior experience working in a card marketing role at a bank, co-brand card issuer, fintech organization, payments company, or card portfolio business.
  • Deep expertise in Cardholder Lifecycle Marketing, including acquisition, onboarding, activation, engagement, spend stimulation, loyalty, retention, and reactivation strategies.
  • Strong experience in email marketing strategy, campaign development, deployment, optimization, customer segmentation, and user journey design.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage customer data, campaign performance metrics, audience insights, and reporting to drive business decisions.
  • Experience sharing data-driven insights with executive stakeholders and translating analytics into actionable marketing recommendations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in customer analytics, transaction behavior analysis, audience targeting, and performance measurement.
  • Experience leveraging marketing technology, CRM, customer data platforms, and AI-powered marketing solutions to drive portfolio growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels:
    • Build executive-level client marketing strategies and growth roadmaps.
    • Flex into detailed campaign management, execution oversight, testing strategies, and performance optimization.
  • Experience supporting large issuer portfolios including Super Regional financial institutions.
  • Strong knowledge of omni-channel customer engagement strategies across email, mobile, digital, direct mail, and emerging channels.
  • Experience designing and managing automated customer journeys, triggered communications, and lifecycle marketing programs.
  • Strong understanding of A/B testing, test-and-learn methodologies, campaign attribution, and marketing optimization.
  • Accomplished in B2B2C and B2C marketing strategy and execution.
  • Experience bringing innovative ideas to market and navigating highly matrixed organizations to secure buy-in and drive execution.
  • Skilled in crafting, pitching, and selling strategic recommendations to executive leadership and clients.
  • Strong executive presence with excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

The estimated salary range for this positionis $151,600 to $285,600 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.

Travel Requirements

This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
