Network Connectivity Department

The Network Connectivity team enables scalable, reliable and carrier-neutral connectivity across Vantage Data Centers North American campuses. The team supports new site diligence, fiber and conduit infrastructure planning, carrier and customer connectivity, Meet-Me-Room (MMR) readiness, interconnection services, data governance and the operational standards required to deliver a consistent customer experience across the region.

Position Overview

This role may be based at any Vantage Data Centers location within the United States, following our flexible work policy (3 days in-office and 2 days flexible).

The Manager, Fiber Connectivity, North America will lead the team responsible for fiber connectivity diligence, new site connectivity readiness, outside plant (OSP) planning and cross-functional execution support for new and existing Vantage campuses. This role will manage and develop employees focused on site and market diligence, fiber route analysis, OSP strategy, carrier availability, connectivity design inputs and execution coordination from early due diligence through handoff to construction, operations and customer-facing teams.

The successful candidate will bring strong people leadership, telecom infrastructure knowledge and an execution-oriented mindset. The role is designed as a hands-on manager position that provides daily operational leadership, removes roadblocks, strengthens governance, standardizes documentation and ensures the team can scale with Vantage growth across North America.

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead, coach and develop a team responsible for fiber diligence, OSP planning, connectivity feasibility and related execution support across North America.

  • Manage team priorities, workload, performance expectations and development plans to ensure high-quality delivery and strong employee engagement.

  • Drive site-specific and market-level fiber diligence for new campus opportunities, acquisitions and expansion projects.

  • Oversee OSP strategy and design inputs, including route diversity, building entrances, points of entry, conduit pathways, carrier availability and handoff requirements.

  • Partner with Site Selection, Market Development, Design & Engineering, Construction, Site Operations, Security, Legal, Sales, Enterprise Customer Experience and Carrier Relationship teams to align connectivity requirements early in the project lifecycle.

  • Support carrier and provider engagement related to fiber availability, build requirements, construction timelines, serviceability, diversity and long-term campus readiness.

  • Ensure connectivity risks, dependencies and business impacts are clearly documented, escalated and tracked through resolution.

  • Develop and maintain repeatable processes, templates, standards and reporting for fiber diligence, OSP planning and new site connectivity readiness.

  • Improve data governance and documentation across tools such as ServiceNow, SharePoint, DCIM platforms, route files, KMZs, project trackers and executive reporting materials.

  • Support customer, sales and executive discussions by translating technical fiber and OSP considerations into clear business impacts, options and recommendations.

  • Track team KPIs, project milestones, risks, issues and readiness metrics to support leadership reviews and continuous improvement.

  • Handle additional duties as assigned by management.

  • People Leadership: Team clarity, performance accountability, coaching, succession depth and stronger employee engagement.

  • Fiber Diligence: Consistent and timely site and market connectivity assessments to inform land, customer and development decisions.

  • OSP Planning: Diverse, scalable and executable fiber and conduit strategies aligned to customer and campus requirements.

  • Stakeholder Alignment: Early collaboration with internal teams to reduce delivery risk, rework and late-stage connectivity gaps.

  • Governance & Reporting: Accurate tracking, standard documentation, clear escalation paths and leadership-ready reporting.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Construction Management, Network Infrastructure, Information Technology, Business or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.

  • 7+ years of experience in telecommunications, fiber infrastructure, outside plant, carrier services, data center connectivity, network infrastructure, construction delivery or critical infrastructure environments.

  • 3+ years of people management or direct team leadership experience, including coaching, prioritization, performance management and cross-functional coordination.

  • Strong understanding of fiber infrastructure, dark fiber, lit services, route diversity, carrier ecosystems, building points of entry, MMRs, OSP/ISP pathways, conduit design and data center connectivity requirements.

  • Experience managing site due diligence, feasibility reviews, technical assessments, project risks, schedules, vendors and stakeholder deliverables.

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect technical decisions to customer experience, revenue enablement, delivery risk and operational scalability.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to summarize complex technical issues for executive, commercial and operational audiences.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools and experience with project tracking, documentation and workflow platforms; experience with ServiceNow, DCIM tools, GIS/KMZ files or similar systems strongly preferred.

  • Ability to travel across North American campuses and business locations as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Data center, hyperscale, colocation, carrier, utility, construction or critical infrastructure experience.

  • Experience supporting new market entry, greenfield campus development, brownfield expansions or customer-driven connectivity requirements.

  • Experience developing standards, playbooks, dashboards, governance tools or scalable operating models.

  • Knowledge of fiber permitting, easements, municipal coordination, right-of-way considerations, network diversity and make-ready / build requirements.

  • Experience presenting to senior leadership and supporting customer or commercial discussions.

Success Measures

  • Fiber diligence completed on time with clear business recommendations and documented risks.

  • New sites enter design and construction with stronger connectivity readiness and fewer late-stage surprises.

  • Team workload, priorities and accountability are transparent and actively managed.

  • OSP and connectivity documentation is accurate, searchable and scalable across tools and campuses.

  • Stakeholders receive clear, timely and actionable updates on readiness, carrier dependencies and project risks.

  • Team members demonstrate stronger engagement, technical development and ownership of outcomes.

Additional Details

  • Salary Range: $170,000 - 190,000(this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)
