Training Location: Chantilly, VA

Duration: 3 Months (Contract to Possible Hire)

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (1st Shift)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and patient-focused Phlebotomist II to join the team at Millennium Medical Care - Hillendale in Woodbridge, VA. This role is responsible for performing high-volume specimen collection, processing laboratory specimens, and delivering exceptional patient care in an outpatient (IOP) setting. The ideal candidate will have strong phlebotomy skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities


  • Perform venipuncture and specimen collection on patients of all ages, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.



  • Perform approximately 35-50 blood draws per day while maintaining specimen quality and patient safety.



  • Verify patient identification and accurately label specimens.



  • Process, package, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.



  • Maintain accurate documentation using computer systems.



  • Follow all laboratory safety, infection control, and HIPAA guidelines.



  • Deliver excellent customer service while ensuring a positive patient experience.



  • Work independently to manage daily workflow and specimen collection responsibilities.



  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.




Qualifications


  • High School Diploma or GED required.



  • Previous phlebotomy experience required.



  • Strong venipuncture and specimen collection skills.



  • Experience processing and packaging laboratory specimens.



  • Basic computer proficiency.



  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.



  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced outpatient environment.



  • Ability to stand for 5-6 hours during the workday.




Preferred Experience


  • Experience working in an outpatient laboratory, physician office, or similar healthcare setting.



  • Comfortable performing blood draws on patients of all ages.



  • Experience handling high-volume specimen collection.




Training


  • 1-2 weeks of onsite training in the Chantilly office.




Work Environment


  • Outpatient (IOP) laboratory setting.



  • Independent work environment.



  • High-volume patient care with approximately 35-50 blood draws daily.




Vaccination Requirements


  • No vaccinations required for this assignment.




Important Notes


  • This is an onsite position located in Woodbridge, VA.



  • No travel is required.



  • Contract duration is 3 months, with the possibility of extension or permanent hire based on business needs and performance.
