Commercial Kitchen Equipment Service Technician - Florida Keys Location Requirement - Please Read Before Applying

This position is open exclusively to candidates who currently live in the Florida Keys. Applicants may reside anywhere within the Keys; however, candidates located in Miami, Homestead, or elsewhere on the Florida mainland will not be considered.

Horizon Bradco, a Smart Care affiliate, provides commercial foodservice equipment repair and maintenance throughout the East Coast. We are growing our service team in the Florida Keys and are looking for dependable, mechanically inclined individuals who are interested in building a long-term career as a service technician.

Prior commercial kitchen equipment experience is helpful, but it is not required. If you have experience working with HVAC, refrigeration, appliances, electrical systems, automotive equipment, general maintenance, or another mechanical trade-or you simply have strong mechanical aptitude and are eager to learn-we encourage you to apply.

We provide hands-on training, technical support, company equipment, and opportunities to earn industry certifications while you work.

What You'll Do
  • Travel to customer locations throughout the Florida Keys to service and repair commercial kitchen equipment

  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment such as commercial cooking appliances, refrigeration units, dishwashing and ware-washing equipment, and other foodservice systems

  • Use diagrams, schematics, training resources, and technical support to diagnose equipment issues

  • Communicate with manufacturers and internal technical support teams when assistance is needed

  • Install replacement parts and verify that equipment is operating properly

  • Explain completed repairs and service recommendations clearly and professionally to customers

  • Complete work orders, time records, receipts, and inventory documentation accurately and on time

  • Maintain an organized company service vehicle, including assigned tools and parts

  • Follow all company safety procedures and professional service standards

  • Participate in an emergency on-call rotation that may include nights and weekends

What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

  • Mechanical aptitude and an interest in troubleshooting and repairing equipment

  • Basic comfort using hand tools, tablets, and mobile technology

  • Dependability and the ability to work independently after training

  • Strong customer-service and communication skills

  • Willingness to learn and participate in ongoing technical training

  • Ability to participate in an emergency on-call rotation

  • Availability for occasional overnight travel, if assigned

  • Current residence within the Florida Keys

Helpful, but Not Required

Experience or training in any of the following areas is a plus:

  • Appliance or equipment repair

  • HVAC or refrigeration

  • Electrical or mechanical maintenance

  • Automotive, diesel, marine, or industrial repair

  • Plumbing or facilities maintenance

  • Commercial cooking or foodservice equipment

  • Military mechanical or technical work

  • EPA, CFESA, or other trade certifications

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to frequently kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, and reach

  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 70 pounds

  • Ability to work around moving mechanical parts, heated surfaces, open flames, pressurized steam, liquids, and electrical equipment

  • Ability to work in damp, humid, hot, or freezing environments

  • Ability to work from ladders, rooftops, and other elevated areas when required
