Test Manager, Professional Services

PTC Professional Services is expanding its investment in delivery quality, and we're creating a new Test Manager role to help lead it. You'll own test strategy and quality governance for PTC's most strategic customer implementations, primarily Windchill and Codebeamer, helping customers reduce delivery risk, accelerate time-to-value and build scalable quality practices. This is a strategic, consultative role focused on direction and oversight rather than hands-on test execution.

What You'll Do

  • Test strategy & governance: Define end-to-end, risk-based test strategies for customer implementations, aligned to business and compliance requirements. Set frameworks, standards and tooling, and ensure traceability across requirements, risks, test cases, defects and validation evidence.
  • Quality oversight: Guide project teams, including testers, in building test plans across functional, integration, system, UAT, performance and regression testing. Track progress and communicate quality status to stakeholders.
  • Customer consulting: Advise customers and partners on test management practices, validation in regulated and safety-critical environments, and adoption of continuous testing and AI-enabled testing.
  • Defect & risk management: Establish defect processes, lead triage and prioritization, track quality metrics and risks, and recommend mitigations.
  • Escalations: Act as quality advisor on critical customer situations, leading root cause analysis and corrective actions with engineering, support and delivery teams.
  • Continuous improvement: Help build PTC's test service offerings and accelerators, and apply lessons learned to future engagements.

Required Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in test management, quality assurance or a related role
  • Strong command of software testing methodologies, QA practices, requirements traceability and validation processes
  • Experience using AI in testing, such as generating repeatable test cases
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, presentation and facilitation skills
  • A customer-first mindset and the ability to lead through cross-functional project teams
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience

Nice to Have's

  • PLM or ALM experience
  • Validation experience in regulated industries
  • Programming experience (e.g., Java, C++, JavaScript)
  • Relational database experience (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
