Field Engineer - Petrochemical Projects

Seeking a Field Engineer - System Turnover & PSSR for a 12-month contract assignment in Lake Charles, LA, starting January 2027. No traditional per diem offered; a per diem split is available.

  Support construction, mechanical completion, system turnover, commissioning, and startup.

  Perform field walkdowns and verify installations against P&IDs, drawings, and specifications.

  Manage system boundaries, turnover packages, and completion documentation.

  Develop, track, and close punch-list items.

  
  
• 
  

  Coordinate and execute Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR).

  
  
• 
  

  Track MOC, PHA, PSSR, and pre-startup action items through closure.

  
  
• 
  

  Verify inspections, testing, equipment readiness, and turnover documentation.

  
  
• 
  

  Coordinate with Engineering, Construction, Operations, Maintenance, HSE, and contractors.

  
  

• 
  

  5+ years of field engineering, construction, commissioning, or industrial project experience.

  
  
• 
  

  Hands-on experience with system turnover, mechanical completion, punch-list management, and PSSR.

  
  
• 
  

  Ability to read P&IDs, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.

  
  
• 
  

  Knowledge of PSM, MOC, PHA, and startup requirements.

  
  
• 
  

  Experience with industrial construction, field verification, and contractor coordination.

  Engineering or related technical degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.

  Refining, petrochemical, chemical, pipeline, or heavy industrial projects.

  Brownfield projects, pipe rack relocations, tie-ins, and turnarounds.

  Pressure testing, loop checks, commissioning, and system completion tracking.
