Job Summary
With supervision, provides end-user support and assistance while following established standards, protocols and confidentiality, provides documentation of resolutions and assists with website maintenance, datasets, and special projects.

Temporary Employment Services ( TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:

  • Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time
  • Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads
  • Assistance with special projects
  • Seasonal work
  • Emergencies

Essential Functions

  • Provides quality, professional client and user support related to desktop software, specialized applications and hardware.
  • Prepares Windows and Mac devices for deployment to end users
  • Provides timely resolution of problem and follow up
  • Provides assistance with importing data into datasets
  • Works as a team member in support of website maintenance

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8 years of experience with desktop and mobile device support, operating systems, application software, web design and programming + high school diploma OR
  • 4 years of experience with desktop and mobile device support, operating systems, application software, web design and programming + Associate's degree OR
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with no experience


Expectations:

  • Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate quality customer service skills and possess excellent organizational time management, social, communication and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member while interacting with end point clients
  • Display current knowledge of technologies (computer systems, mobile devices, and technology products)
  • Job frequently requires standing, walking, reaching, balancing, hearing, handling objects with hands, and occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds
  • A commitment to an inclusive and diverse campus environment is required

Desired Qualifications

  • Direct experience in end user support and proficiency in troubleshooting
  • Proven customer oriented disposition with quality communication skills across diverse clientele
  • Database management
  • Experience using Dreamweaver, Adobe Acrobat, WordPress, and Bootstrap
