Respiratory Therapist

Job Responsibilities:

• Performs pulmonary function testing including FVL, FVC, Lung Volumes, DLCO, MVV as required. Checks and validates physician order for testing procedure.
• Performs methacholine challenge testing.
• Performs 6-minute walks and oxygen titration.
• Performs sputum induction.
• Educates patients about inhaler technique and airway clearance.
• Generates paperwork to permit the interpretation of pulmonary function tests and generates finalized reports.
• Maintains testing equipment.

Performs other duties as assigned

Job Qualification

• Associate's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Current License to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in New York State, and Current Respiratory Therapist (NBRC) Certification in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience, required.
