Duties:

Operations is a dynamic, multi-faceted division that turns ideas into business realities. We partner with all areas of the firm to deliver banking, sales and trading and asset management capabilities to clients around the world. Alongside that vital service delivery role, Operations provides essential risk management and control, preserving and enhancing the firm's assets and its reputation.

The Operations Division represents approximately 15% of the firm, with more than 4,500 people across the globe. We span all product lines and markets where business is conducted, serving as internal consultants who develop the processes and controls, and help to specify the systems that deliver accuracy, timeliness and integrity to our business.

PWM Margin Lending, as part of the global Trade and Transaction Management (TTM) organization within CIMD Operations is responsible for margin risk monitoring supporting the Private Wealth Management (PWM) business. The team seeks an experienced analyst. The successful candidate will work within a team focusing on monitoring margin exposure for the related accounts.

The Margin Lending group focuses on a combination of day to day operational functions and value added projects and initiatives. From an early stage, we develop and expect our analysts to think creatively and 'outside the box' as well as improving the daily process and taking responsibility and ownership for this to happen.

We promote cross training and ensure our Analysts develop a broad level of understanding across the varied departmental functions carried out. You can expect to be given early responsibility and in return you will be expected to contribute your own ideas to make a difference and add value to the group. The role will involve close interaction with other areas of the bank including Credit, Risk and Sales, therefore requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills.

The principal responsibilities include:

  • Calculation and issuance of margin calls for PWM clientele.
  • Validating and ensuring all margin calls are issued on a timely basis.
  • Responding to all incoming queries and interacting with many different areas of the bank, in particular with Risk, Credit and Technology.
  • Proactively working on enhancing the team's process and controls.
  • Resolution and escalation of all client disputes and queries.
  • Project and initiative management and participation within the team and across all regions.

  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills to balance competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional understanding of products, risks, controls and escalations process across Operations.
  • Excellent problem solving skills; comfort dealing with large datasets and strong numerical aptitude.

  • Excel skills an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong appreciation of client service.
  • Bachelor's Degree Required.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Good working knowledge of product flows and systems, including OTC derivatives and intercompany processes.
  • Prior experience with the Margin Lending business, systems, flows, products and client base.
