Sr. Certified Machine Technician

Job Summary:

Experienced technician responsible for repair and maintenance of all types of CNC machinery and equipment in support of manufacturing operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Performs troubleshooting and repairs on a variety of production equipment including CNC grinders, lathes, mills, heat treatment furnaces, and manual machining equipment.
  • Responsible for identifying and planning needed repairs or improvements to manufacturing equipment. Leads projects for overhaul, improvement, or upgrade of equipment.
  • Acts as an advanced resource to junior team members or internal/external partners to troubleshoot complex problems, repairs, and participates in planning projects. Primary resource in training new team members.
  • Assists with scheduled Preventative Maintenance (PM) and inspections on a variety of production equipment
  • Handles a variety of chemicals and oils, including hazardous wastes. Utilizes proper PPE and equipment. Ensures proper labeling per state and federal requirements.
  • Maintain necessary maintenance records. Detect and report unusual conditions or problems to proper supervisor.
  • Move and store tools, materials, equipment and components as directed. Follow all safety rules and regulations. Keep work area in clean and orderly condition.
  • Available to work overtime to support repairs and projects as needed.


Job Skills & Abilities:



  • Knowledge of fundamental electrical concepts
  • Experience with Industrial Controls
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Basic computer skills required e.g. sending emails, utilizing CMMS software via tablet or desktop
  • Ability to work independently, or as a part of a team with internal and external partners
  • Communicates effectively with written, oral, and verbal direction
  • Safely operates hand tools and basic power tools



Education and Experience:



  • Trade/technical certification preferred
  • HS Diploma or GED and above
  • Minimum 6 years machine maintenance or machining experience at a manufacturing company or closely related industry preferred



Physical Requirements:



  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, grabbing, twisting, carrying, pushing and pulling
  • Must be able to lift up to 40lbs.



Pay Range: $34.30 - $42.88 per hour DOE
