Senior Clinical Technician - Part time

Ophthalmology

Department desires to hire part time technicians to provide support for ophthalmologists and/or optometrists. Duties may include the following:
* Conduct preliminary patient interviews and record relevant data such as chief complaint, health history, medications, and allergies for the physician's review. Measure vitals when necessary.
* Prepare patient and exam rooms for all procedures and provide assistance to physicians for procedures.
* Clean and restock exam rooms including restock of supplies, equipment and medications.
* Review expiration dates of supplies and medication and take appropriate action.
* Conduct a variety of eye examinations and testing as directed by physician.
* Photographs medical phenomena of eye to document diseases, surgeries, treatments, and congenital problems.
* Focuses specialized microscope and cameras to take two- three-dimensional photographs of external, anterior and posterior segments of eye.
* Monitors patients gaze through lens of microscope camera to make sure that patient complies with instructions to obtain desired results.
* May photograph eye to document research studies.
* Assist physicians as required and perform all other duties as assigned.

20 hours per week - Typical busines hours (M-F 8am-5pm)

Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Salary Range: $18.50 - $34.18 hourly
