Description of primary duties and responsibilities:
The Broadwell College of Business and Economics is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Research Assistant for a 3-month position focused on cryptocurrency and FinTech. This is a part-time, temporary position working approximately 28 hours per month. The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing research, assist in the preparation for a major FinTech conference, and conduct a comprehensive literature review on key topics within the field. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the rapidly evolving areas of cryptocurrency and financial technology.
Description of Work Continued:
Key Responsibilities:


  • Research Support: Assist in the design, execution, and analysis of research related to cryptocurrency markets, blockchain technology, and emerging trends in FinTech.

  • Conference Preparation: Support the development of presentation materials, posters, and other documents for an upcoming FinTech conference. This includes synthesizing research findings and collaborating with faculty on presentation strategies.

  • Literature Review: Conduct an extensive literature review on topics such as cryptocurrency regulation, blockchain applications in finance, and the economic impact of digital currencies. Summarize findings in well-organized reports to support ongoing research projects.

  • Data Collection & Analysis: Gather and analyze data from various sources, including academic journals, industry reports, and market data, to inform research projects and conference materials.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with faculty members, other research assistants, and stakeholders to ensure that research objectives are met. Participate in regular meetings to discuss progress and share insights.

  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of research activities, data sources, and methodologies to ensure transparency and reproducibility of findings.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Current graduate student enrolled in a business, finance, economics, or related program. Strong academic record in relevant coursework.
Knowledge skills and abilities:
Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, and the FinTech industry. Understanding of basic economic and financial principles.


Skills:

  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using research databases and financial analysis tools.
  • Experience with data analysis software (e.g., Excel, Python, R) is a plus.

Attributes:

  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks within a given timeframe.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new research topics and methodologies.
