Production Control Planner - Defense BUSINESS: CIRCOR Pumps, NA LOCATION: Monroe, NC DIRECT REPORTING: Operations Manager, Defense FUNCTIONAL REPORTING: Manufacturing POSITION DETAILS Production Control Planner - Defense Position Summary Plans, prepares, distributes, monitors, and manages the production schedules for the manufacture and delivery of Defense products into, through, and out of the dedicated Navy Cell. Principal Activities
- Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules based on the master production plan, and customer orders.
- Ensure accurate WIP Inventory counts and traceability by serial number for critical parts.
- Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
- Manage and release work orders, coordinate the flow of materials, track production progress, and address issues that might disrupt the production process.
- Perform analysis of customer demand, sales forecasts and historical material usage to develop and execute make to order, stock to order and build to forecast plans.
- Coordinate with Purchasing department to ensure timely delivery of raw and outsourced materials.
- Manage MRP parameters to ensure appropriate supply pipeline and inventory is available to meet customer demand and sudden changes in the production schedule.
- Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.
- Monitors plan execution continually in order to make adjustments, when necessary, to optimize OTD performance while communicating expectations on delivery to internal and external resources.
- Attend daily production meetings and project meetings to provide updates and take immediate action on critical items.
- Prepares and presents various production reports.
- Participates in the implementation and utilization of the Circor Operating System / LEAN tools in order to continually improve processes leading to ever improving performance to customers including lead time reduction.
- Professionally present information / order delivery status to customers upon request.
- Follow corporate and departmental SOP's; monitor/take action on KPI's
- Ability to share knowledge and train others when needed.
- All other duties and tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Knowledge Skills & Abilities Experience Requirements
- Experience in High Mix-Low Volume machined components environment.
- Experience with CNC machining, precision manufacturing, or related fields is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of production planning principles, inventory management, and capacity planning.
- Strong planning and analytical skills; experienced working with MRP in an ERP environment - IFS preferred, but not mandatory.
- Extensive knowledge of inventory management concepts
- Experience in reviewing and understanding basics of technical documents (drawings, prints, specifications, etc.).
- Ability to work on cross-functional teams.
- Project management skills including the ability to prioritize, balance, and manage multiple efforts with strong results/goal orientation.
- Uses time effectively, prioritizes and organizes workflow; can orchestrate multiple activities at once. Agility and personal adaptability with the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities with a high sense of urgency in a dynamic business environment.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey information and ideas in a variety of media, tactful, confident, at all global levels, internal and external.
- Knowledge and proficiency in MS Office suite applications.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel: pivot tables, VLOOKUP's, advanced formula's, macros are a plus.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or a related discipline
- 3 to 5 years' related experience within a manufacturing facility preferably in a low-volume, high-mix machining or manufacturing environment.
- Proficient working in MRP system in manufacturing environment.
- Must be a US citizen with no dual citizenship.
