Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Performance Operations Specialist to assist in the oversight of daily performance across mutual funds, hedge funds, and institutional accounts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for investigating and resolving performance inquiries from internal stakeholders and developing and deploying tools to proactively identify anomalies. Additionally, the role involves working with internal technology teams and outsourced service providers to enhance technological capabilities.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Build tools to monitor and validate portfolio investment results, including attribution and benchmark analysis.

  • Develop and maintain performance reports and analytical tools using Python and SQL.

  • Collaborate with investment teams and technology on system enhancements involving performance attribution.

  • Analyze performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

  • Identify potential problems and take corrective actions as needed.

  • Recommend and implement initiatives to streamline and automate workflows or processes.

  • Document firm processes, performance calculations, and methodologies.

Position Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field; a Master's degree or progress towards CFA or FRM is preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in performance management/operations, risk management, or exposure to the transaction lifecycle of alternatives accounts from an operations perspective

  • Demonstrated understanding of equity, fixed income, and alternative investment strategies.

  • Strong programming abilities (e.g., Python, SQL is highly desirable).

  • Comfortable with formulas, performance measurement methodologies, and risk measures.

  • Experience in calculating, validating, and interpreting portfolio investment results, including attribution and benchmark analysis.

  • Self-directed with the ability to proactively identify and analyze problems.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with various departments, including technology, analytics, risk, operations, trade processing, and portfolio management.

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.
Salary Range: $ 97,000.00 - $ 128,000.00
