This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will plan, schedule, and support engine production at our new, state-of-the art production facility in Huntsville, Alabama. The Production Control group will establish, maintain and coordinate production schedules with manufacturing and assembly areas. This hands-on position requires strong communication, organization, planning, and project management skills. The permanent location of this position is Huntsville, Alabama. The site is slated to open Q1 2020. We intend to start the candidate in the current facility in Kent, Washington then transition the role to Huntsville. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

  • This position will require shift flexibility to align with changes in business need. Shift schedules are outlined below:

    A Shift: Monday-Thursday 5:00AM-3:30PM

    B Shift: Monday-Thursday 3:00PM-1:30AM

    C Shift: Friday-Sunday 5:00AM-5:30PM

    D Shift: Friday-Sunday 5:00PM-5:30AM

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate, maintain, communicate and drive the schedule to ensure on time delivery for service centers and integrated areas.

  • Schedule management throughout the day in order to maintain a dynamic accurate schedule. Clearly communicate the status of each job.

  • Coordinate the schedule, plan, and initial staging of material/kits to all necessary areas of production and test.

  • Communicate and coordinate upcoming work center load (capacity planning) to provide visibility to area leads.

  • Identify and communicate constraints in the production flow and work with area leads to discuss possible solutions.

  • Interface and communicate with internal customers for potential impact or delays in the schedule.

  • Coordinate with Maintenance team and Shop Leads for preventative maintenance schedule for machines, where applicable.

  • Management of WO Instance from creation to completion.

  • Tracking and closure of all outstanding orders. (In all business systems.)

  • Coordinate all part handling that could involve having crates built, packing material for outplant processes, etc.

  • Notify procurement/programs of any parts gone missing or adjusted out of inventory during physical and cycle counts.

  • Updating estimated on-dock dates in scheduling system, ex: assemblies in inventory ready for vehicle install.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a AA or Bachelor's degree in business or commensurate professional experience

  • 5 years schedule management experience

  • Ability to thrive in a high energy, high growth dynamic environment.

  • Experience working with inventory and or database systems.

  • Experience using and managing ERP/MRP systems

  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in operations management or supply chain management

  • Familiarity with MS Office software including MS Project

  • Three or more years of experience using MRP/ERP systems

  • Experience in a both development and production environments
